Library Trustees
Library boards are one of our first lines of defense against attempts to ban books and stifle information. In New Hampshire, library trustees are either elected or appointed by municipal governments. In 2025 and 2026, nearly every town and city in the state has an open seat on their library boards. By putting your name out there, you have the chance to fight book bans and protect a free information environment in New Hampshire. Highlighted in green on the map are towns with upcoming vacancies on their library boards. This area includes every New Hampshire city except Manchester, Concord, and Berlin and virtually all of the most populous towns across the state.
Land Use Boards
For multiple consecutive years voters across New Hampshire have been clear that the #1 issue facing the state was the lack of affordable housing for working and middle class families, whether they be renters, prospective buyers, young people, or elderly residents. In order to get housing built in all of our communities, it is imperative that there be pro-housing majorities on local land use boards like planning boards, which chart the future of development in our communities, and zoning boards, which hear appeals of planning board regulations on specific cases. Fortunately, ~960,000 Granite Staters (nearly 70% of the total population) live in towns or cities with open zoning or planning board positions in 2026. This includes virtually all towns and cities in the high demand I-93, Everett Turnpike, and I-95 commuter corridors. In orange are towns with solely zoning board vacancies, in blue are towns with solely planning board vacancies, and in grey are towns with vacant positions on both boards. Vacancies appear to be concentrated largely in towns in the state’s populous southern tier which presents a great opportunity to achieve real, lasting, impactful reforms for thousands of New Hampshire residents and would-be residents, should these board positions be filled with people who support housing growth and development.
